Igor Mikhaylenko was born in 1969 in Krasnodar, the Russian SFSR of the Soviet Union, and lives and works in the same city.
In 1988, he graduated from the Krasnodar College of Arts.
In 1992, he joined the youth branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.
In 1998, he became a member of theUnion of Artists of Russia and the International Association of Art (AIAP UNESCO).
In 1998–2006, he was chairman of the Krasnodar youth branch of the Union of Artists of Russia; in this role, he organized a number of exhibitions, which had wide response, “Format” (2004) and “Pretending Classics”(2005) were among them.
In 2004–2009, he was a member of the board of the Krasnodar branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. In 2006–2016, he headed the Krasnodar RegionalExhibition Hall of Fine Arts.
For achievements in the field of art, he received the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts in 2009, and the gold medal of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia in 2010.
He has been exhibiting since 1990 and participated in more than forty exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
The works are stored in the collections of the Kovalenko Krasnodar Regional Museum of Art, the Krasnodar Regional Exhibition Hall of Fine Arts, the “Erarta” Museum of Contemporary Art, St. Petersburg, as well as in private collections in Russia, the United States, Israel, Lebanon, and Germany.
