Artist Sergei Anatolyevich Orlov was born on October 21, 1957 in Votkinsk.
In 1978 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Art School. In 1987 he graduated from the Surikov Institute (easel painting, professor T. T. Salakhov).
In 1988 he acted as a co-organizer and participant of the first exhibition of avant-garde art in Izhevsk "Yes!"
Participated in the "Boat" group with Mikhail Basov, Viktor Chuvashev, Pavel Aksenov, which was part of the "Thanatos" group.
In 2012, Sergei Orlov became a teacher at the Skolkovo School in Izhevsk, teaching the course "Sergei Orlov's School of Contemporary Art."
