He is a watercolourist who with each stroke expresses a bit of life unfolding in front of him. The moments he captures seem ephemeral and passing but are elucidated by the stark subject matter.
Nyasha Bandama is a self-taught Zimbabwean artist based in Bulawayo. Having dabbled in oil and acrylic, Bandama finds watercolour the best medium to express how life is from his vantage point. The process of coming back to the painting, awakening and shifting the pigment and consequently the form that is diffused in water, this kind of meditation is what draws him to watercolour. He is a story teller, documenting the everyday in its chaos and its beauty.
