Let’s continue to learn about the legendary world festivals, which you have to visit at least once in your life. 



Coachella in California


The top of the best festivals in the world is the famous Coachella, the largest music event that every music lover has probably heard of. It is named thanks to the valley in the city of Indio (USA, California). It takes place in April. The event is attended by both famous and little-known performers of various genres from indie rock to electronica. The main surprise for visitors is two secret guests, whose names are kept secret until the very beginning of the performances. Over the years, among the Coachella's headliners were Red Hot Chili Peppers, AC/DC, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Eminem, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and others. The atmosphere of the festival deserves special delight — the organizers pay much attention to large-scale installations, and the visitors themselves — to bright outfits in the grunge or boho style.



Carnival in Rio de Janeiro (Brazilian Carnival)


The Brazilian carnival can safely claim the title of the brightest and most unforgettable event in the world. For this reason, it is in the Guinness Book of Records. Carnival takes place annually in February and attracts millions of tourists from all over the world. Every year, its funding is growing, and, accordingly, its scale. Famous athletes, actors and musicians often take part in the event. The most spectacular part of the carnival is thematic performances and competitions of dance schools. Giant moving platforms, unique costumes, life-size puppets and decorations, music and crazy energy - the atmosphere of this holiday is really hard to describe in words.



Sziget in Hungary


The legendary Sziget can be without a doubt one of the best music festivals in the world. It has been held annually in the summer in Budapest since 1993. Visitors have a whole week to enjoy live performances by their favorite artists, listen to music from a variety of genres and take part in other cultural events. The festival hosts exhibitions, performances and film screenings, master classes and much more. Food and alcohol are sold on site, and Sziget offers camping accommodation. Line-up of the festival is compiled by popular vote. Among the musicians who performed on Sziget are Dua Lipa, Kings Of Leon, Major Lazer, The Strokes, A$AP Rocky, Khalid and others.



Comic Con in the USA


Comic Con, a popular non-profit festival dedicated to pop culture and comics, has been held since 1970 in San Diego (USA, California). It is held in late July-early August and guarantees visitors 4 days of fun, meetings with film industry representatives, designers and writers, premiere screenings and much more. You can get to the festival as a spectator or register as a participant - in this case, you must select a character and create a detailed image using costumes and makeup. Comic Con has long been considered an international festival and gives unforgettable emotions to fans from all over the world.



Sonar in Spain


The internationally renowned festival of contemporary music and multimedia art, Sonar, gathers around 100,000 spectators in Barcelona every year. It is held at the end of summer and lasts 3 days. The program of the event, right up to the very beginning, is kept secret. The day part of the concerts is called Sonar by Day, and the night part is called Sonar by Night. On the stages you can see musicians and DJs of world scale. Over the past few years, festival guests have included Björk, Beastie Boys, The Chemical Brothers, Skrillex, The Roots, M.I.A, Justice and more. The additional program includes the International Conference on Modern Technologies in Art Sonar + D, which is attended by media and show business professionals from different countries.



St Patrick's Day in Ireland


The world-famous holiday in honor of the Irish patron saint is celebrated on a large scale in many countries. Of course, to plunge into the most authentic and grandiose atmosphere of this event, it is worth coming to Dublin on March 17th. On St. Patrick's Day, thousands of people in green suits can be seen on the streets of the city drinking beer, singing songs and having fun. An integral part of the festival is a large-scale parade, and the main symbols are leprechauns and shamrocks. It is customary to complete the celebration in one of the city pubs, where crowds of people gather at the end of the day.



International Balloon Festival


An incredibly spectacular and colorful balloon festival takes place in Albuquerque (New Mexico, USA) and annually gathers crowds of tourists who want to see this beauty with their own eyes. No wonder it was given the unofficial status of "the most photographed event in the world." The event takes place at the end of June and lasts for 9 days. The launch of more than 700 giant balloons of various shapes and colors is carried out in the Rio Grande Valley both during daylight hours and at night. Visitors have the opportunity not only to become spectators, but also to ride one of the handsome balls. Other entertainment events are also held on the site - various master classes, concerts and performances. The daily program ends with a bright fireworks display.



Snowbombing in Austria


The dance and electronic music festival Snowbombing takes place in spring in the Austrian resort of Mayrhofen. This unique event allows you to combine several pleasant activities at once. During the day, dedicate yourself to winter sports, and in the evening, enjoy the performances of the best DJs and musicians. The main part of the line-up is usually made up of electronic artists, however, other genres are always present in the festival program. Snowbombing is not only a large-scale and significant event in the world of music, but also a great opportunity to take even more impressions from your vacation.



Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan


This is one of those parties that are definitely worth not getting enough sleep once. Full Moon Party is a famous monthly disco that is held on the Thai island of Koh Phangan in honor of the full moon. Guests of the event are waiting for endless dances to techno, drum and bass and reggae, a sea of ​​​​cocktails and crazy energy, which fills you up from the first minutes. This is a real outlet for party-goers and lovers of vibrant nightlife. As a rule, the event is attended by about 20 thousand tourists from different countries. Many gather on the coast before sunset, and disperse only in the morning. In addition to the driving atmosphere of the event, you can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and meet the dawn with your favorite music.



Ultra Music Festival Miami in USA


One of the largest electronic music festivals not only in the US but throughout the world was founded in 1999 and named after the Depeche Mode Ultra album. The famous event is held annually in March in the center of Miami, in Bayfront Park, and gathers more than 165 thousand people. For several years, the headliners of the Ultra Music Festival have been DJ Snake, Above & Beyond, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Flume, Gesaffelstein and others. Amazing sound and dizzying atmosphere that reigns during live performances do not leave indifferent any lover of good music.



Songkran in Thailand


Thai New Year or Songkran is often referred to as the water festival. This is due to the fact that during the celebration it is customary to pour each other from head to toe - Thais believe that this ritual allows you to cleanse yourself of sins. Every year in mid-April, ruthless water fights can be found on the streets of Thailand using powerful water pistols and hoses. In addition, the celebration of Songkran is not complete without traditional processions. People in national costumes carry Buddha statues decorated with flowers through the streets, pouring water on them from time to time. All this is accompanied by dancing and mutual congratulations. By the way, Bangkok hosts an electronic music festival in honor of Songkran. 



Cannes Film Festival


Everyone has probably heard about this world-famous event at least once. The Cannes Film Festival is rightfully considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world and the most important social event in the lives of many stars. Every year in May, it gathers hundreds of talented directors, actors and producers so that they can demonstrate their work, participate in shows and competitions, and also receive the coveted award - the Palme d'Or. The main goal of the festival is to promote the development of the film industry and open up new opportunities for different generations of filmmakers.



Mardi Gras in New Orleans


The name of this festival is translated as "Fat Tuesday". It marks the end of the "fat week" before the start of Lent. The holiday came to New Orleans (Louisiana) in the 18th century thanks to the French. As part of this event, large-scale feasts are held in the city with various competitions, performances and entertainment events. Another important part of the festival is the spectacular parade, during which the streets are filled with crowds of people in colorful costumes. Despite the fact that Mardi Gras is celebrated in many cities around the world, the tradition of listening to jazz is considered a feature of the New Orleans festival. During the festival, this music sounds literally on every corner.
